Wormy Apple Croissants

Gooey yet oh so wormy.  Perfect for a Halloween treat. These apple croissants are really fun to make. It was a little messy but it was soo worth it. Hope you enjoy these as much as I did.

Gather
1 granny smith apple
1 (8 ounce) package crescent rolls
1/4 caramel topping
gummy worms or bugs

Go
Use a vegetable peeler to peel the apple ( this was kinda tricky so you can let a grown-up do this part). On a cutting board slice apples into Fourths with a small paring knife.

Cut the core out and dice(cut) the apples into small chucks

Place apples chucks in a small sauce pan and cover with water.Cook over medium heat for 3- to 5 minutes or until apples or soft. ( Be sure to pay attention, you don't want them to get too soft or else you will have applesauce)

 Drain.

On an ungreased baking sheet spread out the triangles of the crescent roll dough.

In a small bowl, use a mixing spoon to mix the apples and the caramel topping.

Drop 1 tablespoon of the apple mixture into the middle of each triangle.
Fold the dough over the filling and continue to roll into a crescent shape. Firmly press the edges together.

When croissants have cooled, add the gummies and drizzle caramel topping over each croissant.

And there you have it, bugs and all.
Remember to refrigerate any leftovers. I doubt there will be any though. These are bug-a-licious!
